A-Delta Trio con saxofónes.

Who are we?

Our Story

A-Delta Trio was born in Basel and arises from the enthusiasm of three saxophonists who not only share their love for chamber music, but also the desire to bring a breath of fresh air to classical and contemporary music. In their continuous search, they always seek to delve into each language, with the premise of respecting the authenticity of the texts, periods and authors.

Their field of study ranges from the music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, making adaptations and transcriptions, to contemporary music, collaborating with new composers in their quest to develop an almost non-existent repertoire of this innovative instrumental ensemble.

A-Delta's distinctive character is based on its creative and open approach to repertoire, which has several facets: its own arrangements of various styles, with adaptations of works by the Bach family, Mozart, Leo Weiner, and Lutowskaski, among others, combined with the study of contemporary music, with new works commissioned from various composers, such as a new trio for three saxophones called “Funken” by Guiomar Ortiz that they premiered in the final of the Juventudes Musicales de España competition in the Chamber Music category. In the coming months, they will premiere pieces by Benjamin Attahir, Alberto Bernal and Aline Sarah Müller.

These young musicians have participated in concerts and festivals both nationally and internationally, taking their music to the ICMC in Weikersheim, Germany, and to venues such as the Stadtcasino in Basel, the Toscana Saal in Würzburg, Basilica di Santa Croce, in Florence, and the Espace Fleuret at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique.

Since the trio's inception, the members of A-Delta Trio have surrounded themselves with a unique musical environment, from their time at the CSKG (Madrid) with Pedro Pablo Cámara to the Musik-Akademie (Basel), their academic epicenters, where they continue their training as a chamber music group with professors Anton Kernjak, Claudio Martínez, and Marcus Weiss. Their commitment to the message of music has led them to receive continuous lessons from some of the most renowned musicians in Spain and Europe, such as the members of the Casals Quartet, Cibrán Sierra (Quiroga Quartet), bassoonist Sergio Azzolini, violinist Leila Schayegh, and pianists Denes Varjon and Angelika Merkle.

They are aspiring members of the ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) and have participated in its sessions in France, Switzerland, Italy, and soon Germany. They have been finalists in the prestigious Juventudes Musicales de España Competition in the chamber music category and have received awards such as First Prize in the Orpheus Chamber Music Competition in Switzerland, the Manchester Mid-day Concert Series, and the prize for the best performance of a contemporary work at the Arnuero International Chamber Music Competition.

Recently, A-Delta Trio has been selected to take part in the MusaE project, as well as in the Piano Trio Fest Bern, Festival Musikdorf Ernen, Swiss Chamber Music Festival Adelboden, and Zunftkonzerte Zürich.

“Their work as a trio is very intense, creative and innovative” - Marcus Weiss
